Melissa Ramirez joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma in January 2018 ready to lead the organization to new heights. Melissa came to BBBSOK after spending 19 years between the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross. Most recently, Melissa was AHA’s Senior Vice President responsible for work in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Melissa’s background includes extensive work in nonprofit strategy, fundraising, multi-site management, volunteer recruitment and mission delivery.
Melissa’s passion for mentoring comes from personal experience in her own family. Her admiration for BBBSOK started decades ago.
Melissa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and minor in Marketing from Oklahoma State University. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband David and two children Sophia (15) and Eli (11). She loves family vacations, audio books, photography, writing and new recipes.
